The Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) is required to keep track of certain staff at its accredited institutions. The existing process was time consuming for both the MAERB staff and its member institutions. Tracking updates, new hires and specific contact information was overwhelming with over 500 institutions in the system. Etchasoft programmed a custom Web application for institutions to maintain its database of staff on the MAERB Web site. The system allows specific administrators to update all institution related personnel data but it is not published until approved by staff at MAERB. The member database also includes a document repository for all documents related to the member institution. The system includes automated triggers to create issues that appropriate personnel and allow back and forth communications to resolve the issue. Finally, MAERB has access to a custom list builder to query the database and pull targeted lists based on a criteria contained in the system.
